Austrian Airlines’ Brand-New A320neo at Magnetic MRO

Before taking off on its first scheduled flight with Starlink, Austrian Airlines’ brand-new Airbus A320neo OE-LXF made an important stop at Magnetic MRO in Tallinn.

Arriving directly from the factory, the aircraft spent 25 days at Magnetic MRO, where our teams prepared it for Austrian Airlines operations and fleet standards. The project brought together Avionics, Interior, Sheet Metal and Fuselage teams, supported by our Composite and Interior workshops. One of the highlights was the installation of the Starlink in-flight Wi-Fi system.

“At Magnetic in Tallinn, some minor adjustments were carried out on the aircraft to prepare it for Austrian Airlines operations. As Magnetic MRO is a long-standing, trusted partner, it was an easy decision for us to have the work carried out by Magnetic MRO,” says Bernhard Schreckensperger, Fleet Manager for Airbus at Austrian Technik.

For the Magnetic MRO team, working on an aircraft arriving directly from the factory made the project particularly special.

OE-LXF departed Magnetic MRO on 31 August. On 7 September, it operated its first scheduled flight to Porto, becoming the first Austrian Airlines aircraft to enter scheduled service with Starlink high-speed internet on board.
