Thinking about the new career opportunities in new year? Helena Ainsoo, HR Business Partner at Magnetic Group, shares a few of her insights for those on a lookout for new career adventures - as well as for those who are just looking into the opportunities to start their career in aviation.
What are the options Magnetic Group has to offer to those interested in starting career in aviation?
If we look at the current open positions in Magnetic Group, then I believe now is exactly the right time to dive into the world of aviation. From taking on the challenge as a Licensed Engineer in one of our Direct Maintenance stations in Germany to bringing your previous experience and know-how to our Engineering team as a Fleet Engineer – sky is not the limit here. Or why not further your career in IT but do it in the aviation sector.
Offering a hands-on practical experience to our employees and apprentices is very close to our hearts and we will continue with that next year as well. Our new Aircraft Technician vocational study group will kick off their studies in February 2022. We will continue with our initiatives to provide the best intern- and apprenticeship possibilities to students all over the world as much as possible.
We have truly Magnetic possibilities for anybody interested in starting a career in aviation and we are looking at 2022 with excitement in our eyes. This will be an interesting and challenging year – we are up for everything that 2022 has to offer and we hope that you are as well!
In your opinion, what are the key skills people need to have to pursue career in aviation?
To start with, we are looking for passionate people because we believe that passion makes a difference. If we go into more detail about the key technical and soft skills one needs to thrive in the fast-paced and challenging world of aviation, it depends on the position, the requirements vary. For example, candidates who want to apply for our apprentice positions, such as Sheet Metal Apprentice or Basic Mechanic Apprentice, need to have interest or passion in these fields and actual hands-on technical experience is a big plus.
For those who want to take upon a new career challenge in 2022, where would you recommend to start from?
Amelia Earhart has said that the most effective way to do it, is to do it. You start with the wish to take your career to the next level and then go from there. If you wish to be a part of the aviation industry`s most passionate company and help aviation companies help the world, then come on board - I guarantee you, it will be a start of an exciting journey!
