Magnetic MRO has painted the Latvian airline airBaltic’s new A220-300 aircraft into a unique one-off livery that features the colours of the Estonian national flag. Due to the growing popularity of airBaltic’s services in Estonia, the Latvian airline decided to paint one of its new Airbus A220-300 aircraft into the Estonian national flag colours at the Magnetic MRO facilities in Tallinn. airBaltic’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, registered as YL-CSJ, will now be carrying the colours of the Estonian flag and the name of its capital - Tallinn - around the world. “We see a very strong demand from the Estonian market and the number of passengers who travel with us continues growing each month. airBaltic team is honoured to present a special gift to its Estonian passengers. Now we are bringing the name of Estonia across the world as the colours of Estonian flag will proudly wave above our heads high in the skies,” Martin Gauss, airBaltic’s CEO commented. Rihards Priedkalns, Magnetic MRO’s Aircraft Paintshop Manager added that Magnetic MRO feels very thankful and honoured that airBaltic has chosen them to perform the painting of the Estonian national flag colours on one of their newest aircraft. “As an Estonian MRO, we are very proud of our work and we're sure the new livery will make every Estonian look into the sky to scan for this beautiful blue-black-white bird," Priedkalns said. To create this artwork, 15 professional painters worked for 1 000 hours. In total, 250 litres of primer, paint and lacquer were used to cover the aircraft, which constitutes the layer of 120 microns or 0.12 mm. The unique livery, depicting Estonia's flag colours on the fuselage was applied onto airBaltic’s newest generation aircraft, A220-300. The aircraft, registered as YL-CSJ, will now fly across Europe and Asia, showing off the Estonian flag to countries all over the globe.
