Meet Anne Mandre - Celebrating 15 Years at Magnetic Group
At Magnetic Group, we believe that our people are the heart of our success: very milestone we reach is made possible by the dedication, experience, and passion of our team members. This year, we’re proud to celebrate 15 years with Anne Mandre, our Base Maintenance Manpower Planner, whose journey through aviation has been as inspiring as it is enduring. Check out her story.
Can you tell us a bit about your journey? How did you start at Magnetic?
Anne: I pretty much followed in my father’s footsteps - he has been a pilot for most of his career. Looks like aviation runs in the family - I just decided to keep my feet on the ground while still staying close to the wings.
I’ve worked in various areas of the aviation industry throughout my career — at the airport terminal, then moving to the national carrier, Estonian Air, where I was responsible for ticketing revenue and later flight scheduling. At some point, I had the opportunity to join Air Maintenance Estonia, the predecessor of Magnetic, where I’ve been working ever since.
What is your current role and your main responsibilities?
Anne: I work as a Base Maintenance Manpower Planner. Together with a small team, we’re responsible for roster management and both long-term and short-term manpower planning.
In addition, there are a number of other tasks we handle to keep “the engine running.” Let’s just say if everything runs smoothly, it usually means our team did their job right - quietly and behind the scenes.
How has the group evolved and changed during the years you’ve worked here?
Anne: It has changed significantly. The number of people has increased, procedures have evolved, and regulations have changed - so you need to keep yourself updated all the time.
Sometimes it feels like the only constant in aviation is change - but that’s what keeps things interesting!
What would you name as your key achievement while working here?
Anne: Rather than one specific achievement, I’d say it’s the daily effort to keep things running smoothly. Every day brings something different, and being able to adapt, solve problems, and support the team feels like an achievement in itself.
So, I guess my real “achievement” is making sure the small daily victories keep adding up.
What keeps you motivated in your work?
Anne: Besides coffee, of course - teamwork and seeing things fall into place keep me going. Kidding!
I really enjoy working with people and helping wherever I can. It’s always satisfying to see everything come together like when the roster is finalized and the flow of staff between teams looks just right.
Being able to support others and see their gratitude is truly fulfilling, and it reminds me why I enjoy what I do. Knowing that our combined efforts contribute to the bigger picture makes it all worthwhile.
What are your hobbies or passions outside of work?
Anne: Work takes quite a lot of time and energy, so I really appreciate any chance to slow down and relax. When I have more time, I enjoy doing some handcrafts and spending time in the garden - it’s a nice way to recharge.
I don’t have any extreme hobbies, but I like to think that being really good at staring at the sky is an underrated talent.
